Welcome to the HELOA South West Group. We represent the 14 higher education institutions (HEIs) across the region as we offer students a superb university experience in the most vibrant places to live and study in the UK.
We meet four times a year to share best practice and discuss the bigger issues in higher education. Our members work in a variety of education liaison related roles and have a wealth of experience to draw upon.
There are other higher education institutions located in the South West region who are not listed here as they are not HELOA members. For full details of all HE providers in the region please see the UCAS website.
Missy Beal, Marketing and Events Officer, Bath Spa University
Missy Beal graduated from Bath Spa University in 2006 and was delighted to be offered a job straight away in the University’s Marketing Department. Having viewed Bath Spa through the eyes of the student and now as a member of staff, Missy feels she is more than equipped to offer advice and guidance to any student – having been there and done that herself!
Missy is enjoying the new challenge of South West Chair and hopes during her time in office to ensure members feel embraced in their meetings and that HELOA’s importance is recognised throughout the South West region.

After completing her degree, Heather went on to do a PGCE in Primary Education (Science Specialism).
