Welcome to the HELOA Northwest and Northern Ireland Group. We have over 100 members in our group, meet 4 times a year and continue to support each other in a professional capacity in the periods in between. Our group represents 16 higher education institutions (HEIs) universities offering a dynamic and engaging range of courses and student experiences. The mix of both traditional and modern institutions in energetic and exciting multi-cultural towns and cities makes our region a top destination for students.
There are other higher education institutions located in the North West and Northern Ireland region who are not listed here as they are not HELOA members. For full details of all HE providers in the region please see the UCAS website.

Partnerships
Over the course of the past year, the HELOA North West and Northern Ireland group have worked hard to continually develop new partnerships, whilst maintaining our existing collaborative working arrangements. Our regional meetings have been visited by external speakers from a range of stakeholder groups such as:
- The Student Room
- Arkwright Scholarships Trust
- Careers Wales
- Lancashire Lifelong Learning Network
- NASMA
- Student Finance England/Student Loans Company
- National Careers Service
- BSS (Company responsible for delivery of telephone based IAG)
- NEON – National Educational Opportunities Network
- Uni Taster Days
- Manchester Higher
- Teach First
- Into University
- CRAC – The Career Development Organisation
We have also utilised expertise from colleagues within membership institutions on a number of key sectoral issues such as the UCAS Admissions Process Review and have regularly welcomed student panels from partner schools for ‘Meet Your Market’ workshops.
As a group, we are very pleased with how we have been able to develop effective working relations with such a diverse array of groups and anticipate that our Vice-Chair for Partnerships (Kieran O’ Sullivan – The University of Liverpool) will continue to develop our profile amongst stakeholder groups from across the regions with influence on prospective students.
In the near future, we look forward to working in partnership with the HELOA North East group to develop a shared teachers and advisers conference in 2014 We also hope to work more closely with colleagues and associated stakeholders within Northern Ireland in order to become more truly representative of our remit as a dual region.

Welcome from Group Chair
HELOA North West has a membership of over 100 drawn from the 16 Institutions in the North West and Northern Ireland. We meet as a group 4 times a year and continue to support each other in a professional capacity in the periods in between.
Membership is buoyant and the strength of the Association is very much drawn from the commitment and engagement of its members. The work of the Association is very much centred on collaboration and professional development and each year we hold a one day training course for new members. In this field of work, it is essential that members are fully up to date with the latest developments in the HE Sector.
