Who We Are

HELOA is a charity and the professional association of higher education staff working in the field of
education liaison providing guidance and information to prospective higher education students, their
families and advisers. Established in 1990, the charity has over 2000 members from 150 higher
education institutions across the United Kingdom.

Our members work in a wide range of functions within universities, covering areas of schools and colleges liaison, student recruitment, widening participation, external relations, marketing, publications and publicity, and student services. All members are committed to high standards of professionalism.

Membership Types 

Membership Processing

Membership is processed by the HELOA office in collaboration with institutional primary contacts who are the representative of all HELOA members within the institution and are the main administrative contact for HELOA.

To apply for full or associate institutional membership complete the institutional form.

Individual Membership

To apply for individual HELOA membership please receive confirmation from the institutional primary contact and complete the appropriate membership form.

Honorary Membership

Nominations for Honorary Membership are received in advance of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which normally takes place early in the calendar year. At the AGM, the nominations are considered by the membership.

If you wish to nominate a HELOA member for Honorary Membership, please complete the Honorary Membership Nomination Form and include a short paragraph (no longer than 300 words) stating your reasons for the nomination.
