The Taskforce was launched in June 2011. It's headed by Martin Lewis of MoneySavingExpert.com, deputised by Wes Streeting, NUS President 2008-2010, and made up of groups including Universities UK, the NUS and UCAS (see full operations group). The Taskforce is independent of, but backed by, government and will set its own agenda.
The Independent Taskforce on Student Finance Information held the first ever Student Finance Day on 14 November which saw over 60 events across England and Wales. On the day they also launched a free mobile app, Uni Fees 2012 making some of the resources from this website, downloadable to your iPhone, blackberry or android phone, including the full-time students guide, videos and calculator. The app also has a table detailing what grants and bursaries each university is offering to students depending on their household income and details of how to apply to university. Go to your app store, search Uni Fees 2012 and download it for free.
The Taskforce has a website: www.studentfinance2012.com and you can find out more information in their helpful guide.
