The HELOA Midlands Group provides an excellent service to careers professionals, teachers and other colleagues giving advice and guidance to prospective university students. The HELOA Midlands Teachers and Careers Advisers Conference is an annual event with an exciting programme covering current issues and demonstrating the higher education provision in the Midlands.

The 2011 Conference was held at Coventry University on the 18 May 2011. The presentations from the conference can be downloaded here:

  • The University of Nottingham: Careers Advisers’ and Teachers’ Conference

    Advising students about entry to higher education is often a challenging and demanding role. The University of Nottingham aims to provide teachers and careers advisers from across the UK with a free, full-day event to advise them on the latest admissions information. The conference will give delegates the opportunity to: partake in a Q&A sessions, choose from a number of breakout sessions throughout the day and speak to admissions tutors from some of the University’s most competitive courses. This year the conference has also tailored its workshops to meet the needs of both new and experienced practitioners.

    The conference will take place on University Park Campus in Nottingham and will include lunch and refreshments. The day will begin at 9am with coffee and registration and close at 4pm. An optional walking tour of the campus will take place after 4pm. Overnight accommodation can be arranged on campus for Monday 16 April 2012, on request.
